Don LaFontaine (August 26, 1940 - September 1, 2008) was the voice of thousands of movie trailers since the 1960's. His voice-of-doom readings invariably included the phrase "In a world...", which is also often attributed to one of his competitors, Hal Douglas.

Don provided the narration for the Oscar Gold trailer in Tearjerker.
